FAQ Ski
For your Ski insurance, leave nothing to chance!
Yes, Assurski covers all search and rescue costs related to a skiing or snowboarding accident up to a limit of €25,000. This allows for 100% coverage of the injured party's transportation costs, except in very exceptional cases that fall outside the scope of product usage (such as distant expeditions in Arctic or Antarctic regions, for example).
It is important to know that helicopters are now frequently used in France whenever stretcher-like means have to use a ski lift to reach the station. The cost of a helicopter rescue is about €55 per minute, or €3,300 per hour.
Abroad, such as in Switzerland or Italia, helicopter use is almost systematic.
During off-piste rescues, helicopters are always used, even if it's off-piste close to the slopes.
This helps us better understand why Assurski is necessary to cope with these significant expenses.
Conventional on-piste rescue costs, such as the use of stretchers, range between €150 and €650 in the most remote areas of the ski station. Sometimes, you also need to add the cost of the ambulance to the medical office.
Off-piste skiing is covered without needing a qualified guide (ski instructor).
High-end credit card ski insurance is a complementary guarantee to the card and not a specialized sports insurance.
High-end credit card ski insurance only covers the athlete on French territory. If you go abroad, you are not covered.
In case of an accident, you must advance the money (mountain expenses are expensive) and wait for reimbursement.
Off-piste skiing coverage is limited (check the coverage conditions).
The ski pass is not reimbursed in case of loss or theft, but only in case of an accident.
No coverage in case of disability and death.
You must have paid for your ski pass and insurance with your credit card.
If you meet all these conditions, your credit card insurance will be sufficient.
Yes! This is one of the strengths of the Assurski insurance in its annual version. You pay €49.99 and you are covered for (almost) all sports, including extreme sports (except aerial and motorized sports which are covered in our product).
If you are a big fan of extreme sensations and love both snowboarding and BMX, off-piste skiing and canyoning, climbing or scuba diving, there is no doubt that our annual Assurski plan is made for you!
The big advantage of Assurski insurance is that it covers you for your extreme sports practice, even when you don't have a guide or instructor (a condition required by many other insurance products).
The exceptions of Assurski in its annual version are as follows: mountaineering above 5000 meters, skeleton, bobsleigh, Olympic luge, caving, and sport hunting (dangerous animals). Aerial and motorized sports are available in our product, or you can benefit from winter sports guarantees as well.
For everything else, Assurski is the winter and summer sports insurance you need!

Ski insurance is often associated with alpine skiing, or even cross-country skiing, but at Assurski your ski insurance goes far beyond! Indeed, we know that winter sports fans often have versatile sports activities. This is why we have created an offer that covers your practice of many sports, including ski touring.
First of all, it is important to be aware that skiing and/or snowboarding are inherently risky sports. In France, during the ski season, the number of accidents generally exceeds 130,000 across the country (data from the Médecins de Montagne association). Going on a winter sports holiday without adequate insurance can therefore be expensive.
You had been looking forward to your winter sports holiday for several weeks! But fate sometimes disrupts our plans... On the very first day of skiing, you have an accident. You come out unscathed, but not your skis. One of them literally broke in two.
Your Assurski ski insurance includes a ski pass reimbursement section, as well as a ski course fees reimbursement section. These guarantees can be activated as soon as you are a victim of a skiing or snowboarding accident that requires repatriation or prevents you from any outdoor activity.
As with any insurance, you may wonder if ski insurance is necessary.
