Yes, Assursport covers all search and rescue costs related to a ski or snowboard accident up to a limit of €50,000. This covers 100% of the transport costs for the injured, except in very exceptional cases that do not fall within the scope of the product (e.g., remote expeditions in the Arctic or Antarctic).
It’s important to know that helicopters are frequently used in France now whenever rescue methods like sledges need to use a lift to reach the station. The cost of a helicopter rescue is about €55 per minute, or €3,300 per hour.
Abroad, such as in Switzerland or Austria, helicopter rescue is nearly always used.
For off-piste rescues, the helicopter is always used, even if it's off-piste close to the slopes.
This helps explain why Assurski is necessary to cover such significant expenses.
Conventional piste rescues using sledges cost between €150 and €650, depending on how far the area is from the ski station. Additional ambulance costs to a medical center may also apply.
Off-piste skiing is covered without the need for a certified guide (ski instructor).
Premium bank card sports insurance is a supplementary guarantee to the card and not a specialized sports insurance coverage.
Premium bank card sports insurance only covers the insured within French territory. If you go abroad, you are not covered.
In the event of an accident, you will have to pay upfront (mountain expenses can be costly) and wait for reimbursement.
Coverage for off-piste skiing is limited (check the coverage conditions).
The ski pass is not reimbursed in case of loss or theft, but only in case of an accident.
There is no coverage for disability or death.
You must have paid for your ski pass and insurance with your bank card.
If you meet all these conditions, your bank card insurance will suffice.
Yes! This is one of the strengths of the Assurski annual insurance. You pay €49.99 and you are covered for (almost) all sports, including extreme sports (except for aerial and motorized sports, which are covered in our product).
The annual ASSURSPORT plan offers two levels of coverage:
- Basic - Covers all sports except aerial and motorized sports
- Aerial and motorized sports - Covers all sports including aerial and motorized sports
The following sports are excluded from both levels of coverage:
Alpinism above 5000m, Skeleton, Bobsleigh, Olympic Luge, Speleology, Hunting dangerous animals.
For everything else, Assursport is the winter and summer sports insurance you need!
